Trick or Treat

Annika's first Halloween was busy and a lot of fun. In the morning we went to Amy, Audrey and Mia's neighborhood for a parade/trick or treating. They were handing out balloons and bags at the rec center and most of the stores were handing out candy. We also got a water bottle from the Apple store, coupons, and some free samples. We were kinda hoping for gift cards but that was wishful thinking! The street was packed with strollers and orange and black balloons. It was fun to see all of the little ones in their little costumes. You don't feel quite so ridiculous dressing up your baby when you see so many other moms doing the same thing.

In the evening we walked over to Brandon, Melissa and Cole's house for a pre-trick-or-treating party. (No pictures there but 1 out of 2 is pretty good for me.) Annika was so good and everyone was impressed by her crawling skills and mellow personality. They close down a street by their house every Halloween and the people really go all out with decorations and costumes, so we all walked over there. They even bring the candy down to street level so you don't have to climb all of those San Francisco stairs. It was packed but nice not to have to worry about cars. Steve managed to use Annika to get some candy for us, too!
