Carlsbad

We had a nice trip down to Carlsbad and stayed in my mom's time share. The place is so nice. Our "room" had 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a full kitchen, living room and a dining table with 8 chairs. It was great to be able to spread out and we had plenty of room for visitors. Gammie and Papa stayed in another room in the same hotel so it worked out great. We also visited with the Shortsleeves and the Martas. The place had a great kids pool with a water play area and a not too hot jacuzzi and a playground. It was also right across the street from Legoland so super convenient and a great way to avoid the parking fee. We arrived Wednesday afternoon and headed straight to the pool. Thursday morning, we headed to Legoland with Gammie and Papa. Both kids were pretty tired so we only stayed a few hours and then headed back for rests and more pool. Friday morning we went to the Sea Life Aquarium with Gammie and Papa (which is part of Legoland) and then again, more pool in the afternoon. Ani and Ben had lots of fun playing with Isaac, Reece, and Silas. Saturday morning, Gammie and Papa headed back home and we headed back to Legoland, but this time to the Waterpark part. We had a great time and even did a few regular Legoland rides on our way out. Annika and Ben both love the water so much. We even got to relax a bit when Ben napped in the stroller and Steve and I took turns playing in the water with Ani. The 5 day pass is really the way to go since we didn't feel like we had to do everything all at once and it's basically the same price as the 1 day ticket. We flew home Sunday morning and we were all very tired when we got back. So nice to be able to spend time with family, see close friends and have fun!
